Message text I think is the best possible compromise. Good idea. 
Just a couple of refinements:
1. 8L/R and 8L/R should be speed 1 and 10L/R and 11L/R shuld be speed 2 for everybody. I don't know if this went without saying, but I think it's important.
2. "Slow" models don't have speed 3 maneuvers anymore. Not bad per se, but what about gifting them with a 4S3 just to let them run in case? That's just an idea, and not very important.
