Message text Something missing in the arguments is that speed is also fuel consumption, and presumably then related to engine rpm. So the genuinely slower aircraft eg Alb DIII use more fuel and have to run the engine harder to go the same distance as the D.Va, hence 2S2 vs 2S1.
To change speed therefore requires greater engine/throttle flexibility which is only available with the more modern engines and planes.
So, presumably its easier in a modern plane to gently drop one wing and the plane will flick round quite easily (10R1), rather than have to get a degree of engine revs on and kick the rudder hard and drop one wing to get an older plane to do the same thing (10R2).
Having said all that, its just IMHO, and I've never played Canvas Eagles... |
