My idea (or 2c IYP):
I think that, even without altitude, CE moves are better than BM ones.
1: Movement speed is uniform (no more 2S2/2S1),
I don't believe this is a BM fault. Although unrealistic, having same moves at different velocity leads to interesting strategies when fighting runners vs dancers, or even dancers vs dancers (think about 10R2/10R1).
2: stall is at speed 0 (did you ever recover from speed 0? Did you ever feel like a sitting duck?)
and 3: Camel is a great plane.
I admit points 2 and 3 aren't too bad
So we can have as many planes as we wish without rearranging tables.
I don't agree, for a simple reason (that I have told more than once before). We're playing BM. First edition BM is unrealistic, but it works well, and it's lots of fun to play. IMHO every further version (with their variants, from altitude to the awful wide firing arc) was _worse_ than the original game. And house rules were even uglier.
But implementing as a whole CE (as a fourth game on youplay.it) could be good. |
