Message text 1) Falconfab how do you do to create always a KERNEL PANIC in this forum?
It's not Falconfab: it's stats. Even if anybody claims that "the important thing is the game", "we don't care about stats" etc.
2) ELO is probably (as said) too much complex to be implemented
More on this later (see #4)...
3) Random plane will give excuses to "unluky" pilot
And, to express my tought on the topic, an idea that sucks. :-|
I can't bear the idea that, because of some stat-warping kid and of other kids that whine about their broken toy, I can set up a game wishing to take a D.III and finf myself in a Bristfit!
4) Time ago I proposed: [...]
And you say that ELO is difficult! Are you kidding? Apart from that, there are some others loopholes in your idea:
4a) Create a simple airplane list from the best to the worst.
Where "best" and "worst" depend largely on circumstances (scenario) and personal taste.
4b) When you create 1 game you will be forced to create 2 games after you pick a plane in the 1st game (the best) you will automatically pick the worts in the other game.
And if I take something halfway?
4c) If you exit one of the linked game with non good reason (engine broken, ending fuel, etc.) you will automatically exit also the other game.
Report from Lt. Gugliandalf of 23th sq. While flying over Sailly-le-Sec at 5000 ft., we met a single enemy aircraft. Immediatly our wing of 4 Camels engaged him. After a short furball, all of a sudden the German literally disappeared from the sky in fron of our eyes. Nobody of us saw it flee or fall, despite the fact that two of us (me and Lt. Smith) where actually aiming at him preparing to shoot in the very moment it happened.
Apart from my gratuitous humour, I think your idea or random planes simply too baroque and complicate, and aginst the spirit of the game. ELO, although maybe difficult to implement, works doubtless better. |
