Message text Hi TnT,
I've read the previous answer and found it was not clear. I'll try to explain the algorithm we are working on.
We work step by step analyzing all possible collisions at each step. This is time consuming and can be easily optionized some way, but is the only way we (and you) found till now.
We found that the real problem is the order in which the ship's collisions are analyzed. For the same situation an ordering can cause a big mess in the solution, while another ordering will lead to a straighforward solution (try your own, by solving the same solution with different ordering).
So the real problem we are now facing is try to find one or more ordering criteria that will lead to a straighforward solution in almost all the cases (when we failm we'll try a different ordering).
Have (sorted) fun, your Webmasters. |
