1. Blue Max is an unbalnced game in his own nature. Different planes make unbalanced games. Even scenarios involving similar planes are not completely balanced. Those were just a bit more unbalanced. The only really balanced scenario is the one used in Cobra Touornament (SS D.I vs Mieuport 17), which is one of the most boring I have ever played.
I know perfect balance is a limit (in a math sense ), but there is a line, although fuzzy, between "fair" and "trap" scenarios.
The real problem, with the 3-1's, is that they were very often played on 17x12 (free placement and standard rules optional ). THAT way is a cheat.
2. I gather that the problem is (again) about stats: unbalanced games are a sort of 'point and kill mine' for rookie-bashers. Solution to that? DROP THE STATS. Just don't mind them. Play for the fun, the thrill and the kill, not for numbers. As flying_neko used to say, BLUE MAX IS AN RPG.
Really he said that? I'm sorry is italian, but: http://groups.google.it/groups?hl=it&lr=&selm=s7a8ousarmv0nh70d2s0m5gmf99s3tp4tk%404ax.com&rnum=1
If you're interested I think I can traslate it.
Said that, I have also to say: I'M NOT WEBMASTER. I CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT STATS except raising mine, lowering others's and warning around not to look at them.
4. Two of the scernarios you deleted were proposed by me
I'm sorry about that, OTOH Gullivers were my own creatures.
As the 3-1's weren't so cluttering as Gullivers in the game list, I think I'll restore them back (at least the one with Pfalz's ). |
