I think this is a really bad decision for a nnumber of reasons.
1. Blue Max is an unbalnced game in his own nature. Different planes make unbalanced games. Even scenarios involving similar planes are not completely balanced. Those were just
a bit more unbalanced. The only really balanced scenario is the one used in Cobra Touornament (SS D.I vs Mieuport 17), which is one of the most boring I have ever played.
2. I gather that the problem is (again) about stats: unbalanced games are a sort of 'point and kill mine' for rookie-bashers. Solution to that?
DROP THE STATS. Just don't mind them. Play for the fun, the thrill and the kill, not for numbers. As flying_neko used to say, BLUE MAX IS AN RPG.
3. For me, I don't think this kind of games are so unbalaced as you say. It depends on map size (which is probably the most imposrtant factor) and the skill of the pilot in the 'big' plane. I'm not so sure a Snipe is all that superior to three Dr.I in 8x8 map.The Fokkers have to be quick, but they can wipe the Allied plane out of the sky. You want more balanced games?
Drop the large map, not the scenarios. The 17x12 map is the real rookie basher. Or
drop standard rules, which make it virtually impossible to shhot a Brisfit or a Snipe down. As Sinead O'Connor once said: fight the real enemy!
4. Two of the scernarios you deleted were proposed by me
