If you finish your fuel before exiting the map, you deserve to be shot down.
Edit:
If you play on a 17x12 map you should never play far from your border. If a Snipe wants to score some points or kills, he has to fly near your border to take them soon or later.
Anyway I am against 17x12 map in every kind of scenario.
