Message text I think the rules and guidelines are improving and I especially agree with ALL of BD's latest post.
I am confused on one parameter though: If a pilot is killed and the player creates a new pilot of the same nationality, then all of the other games not completed by the first pilot will be accrued to the new pilot. BUT, if a player waits for his pilot to come back from MIA/POW status then all of the other games are null and void even after he returns. I dont quite understand this and I maybe misreading it.
I would like to suggest that if a player gains POW status (leaving from the enemy edge) than he should never return. I know escape (and liberation) occured during the war but it wasn't a matter of time for sure. It was a matter of great fortune.
I think that a dice roll would really make the MIA status much easier to impliment and would be more realistic on your chances of surviving a shot down plane crash and making across the front. The Irony email dice server would be perfect for this. The email is sent to a dedicated address (and a copy to the player) and the work of the dice roll is transfered to the player. The results of this roll should be KIA or return to squadron. Very simple and easy. I dont know enough about dice theory to suggest how many sides, how many dice, or how the results should be read.
Clearly making a componet of this campaigns functionality off of youplay.it can create problems and confusion but if we develop a decent introductory email or rules page we should be able to efficently explain the rules to new players. (Maybe in Italian and English)
My 5 cents.
