* The War would last a long period of real time, and planes/scenario availability would change over time. For example, we could decide that the YouPlayIt WWI Campaign will last 11 real months. Each real month is 2 months of game time. So during the first two weeks it's January 1917, then it's February 1917, after another two weeks it's March 1917....and so on until the end of October 1918.
cool idea
* You can only fly planes which belong to the current time frame or an older one. (So you can't fly a Sopwith Snipe on July 1918 but you can fly either a Spad XIII or a Fokker-D. VII or any othe plane available before that date).
* Each player may have one pilot for each nationality (so that you can fly any plane during the war).
I suggest the registration system is just like this, the participant must send you a email address for registration, for each register email address, he/she can fly at most one pilot for each nationality. I know in BM they used the email address as primary key.(is it true ) a. To avoid cheating. b. you can send update, check and anything else with your mail client as I talked with FourthApache that current system won't allow a group mail function.
* If you get killed/plane exploded during a scenario, your pilot is dead. You can create a new one, but his stats will be at 0. So if you want to have an ace boasting lots of victories, you'd better stay alive... * If you get shot down, your pilot will be MIA. You can wait his return for a fixed amount of time (let's say one real month) without playing that nationaily OR you can choose to declare him dead forever and create a new pilot immediately. Agree, and the tournament is actually recording the pilot's games. Not an individual game.
* Games which belong to the WWI Campaign must be with advanced rules and passworded and have a distinctive title, so that anyone joining them knows, what he is joining. Each player *must* declare on Turn 1 what pilot he is going to use, especially if he has multiple pilots available for that plane (for example, both French and British pilots can fly the Niueport-17 on Jan-17). * Statistics will be collected about all the pilots, to see who is the best living (or dead) Ace of all the War I suggest to introduce a ranking system and also badget award system as well, so gamers will know the skill level of their opp and also encourage people to stay alive, but also keep them to do some "heroic" move.
* Also, we will collect general statistics to decide who is winning the War...the German or Allied ones? Ideas on how we could create a score system are welcome... * Setting up special missions (like: you must bring your Halberstadt in that spot and back..), with special bonus points. (That's difficult..ideas welcome ) This will be very intersting and pls count me in. The mission setup can say preset the planes in some predefined area, and do some task. The map already got coordiante on it, it is not difficult to implement it.
That's all for now... tell me what do you think about it! PS: Didn't have time to re-read it...hope it's understandable Blue Dragon's!! I really appreciate your idea, to show my graditude, I promise no to shot you down.
I suggest to all records and files should be kept in http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/youplayit/
Also you may wish to apply rules for stalling games, e.g. if idle players (don't move for more than a give no. of days, say 2 wks) didn't notice his opp or the organiser, the campaign is automatically ended.
P.S. If you wish a co-organizer, and no one apply for it, write me, MSN: parkerlau@hotmail.com
P.P.S. My promise keep as long as we are on the same side |
