I don't agree. Have the fun of this game is _choosing_ to fly a certain type of plane. The purpose of this game is to have fun. The reason we are even discussing this is because some pilots fly for fun and some fly for statistics. That is their fun. Let them have their fun.
Sure there might be a few people that manipulate the stats - but I don't think there are too many of them - and we can tell who they are - so they are not fooling anyone.
The major rationale behind any change (IMHO ) is to allow new players a means of climbing to the top of the heap.
So why not just keep things as they are, but add a "weekly" or "monthly" stat?
Sure, ELO would be nice - but as some posters have already indicated - it would also be open to abuse - so why put effort into developing that? I think our vaunted webmaster has many more items on his "to-do" list that are probably more important.
Besides which, we have a saying "Statistics are for losers"
And if you want the best strategy - Keep flying and roll high!!
