| Message text As I mentioned in another thread, there was an "official, from GDW" set of rules for Blue Max called "Blue Max for Miniatures," which introduced 16 more "early war" and 19 more "late war" planes. The game design/maneuver charts is the same structure as any Blue Max game and as official as one can get.
Canvas Eagles designer is working with the Blue Max designer on a future release (which I hope will be called "Blue Max II" or something other than Canvas Eagles.) The CE design is quite good, however, and the maneuver sheets are done with a smarter graphic treatment that makes it easier to understand what a player can and can't do (the things the computer does for us automatically when it says, "Nope, you can't do that."
Anyway, any planes from Blue Max for Miniatures would be as "official" to the original game as anything else we do. (And if we had more planes, maybe we would see fewer Snipe and SSD3/4 scenarios! Whoever designed the scenario putting SSD3/4s in competition with Sopwith Camels and N 17s.... bad thing to do! |
