You are right, but the autorefresh on the "Play CurrentGame" page keeps alive every player session, while the browser window is open on our site.
It could be possible to avoid this, and may be we will do it in a far future if we should have a band shortage, but currently this is usefull for a user who is waiting for his opponent to move and is checking the browser every now and then.
This is the reason we sometimes have users online which don't play since long time.
