The best test to do is with a V90 modem, if you want a good test. ISDN connect at 64K, full duplex the V90 connect at 42-52K (receive) 33,6 (send) and is half duplex. If you use java be carefull with: "garbage collector" and "connection pool" (the only known things of java for a System Administrator)
