I've shot down 4 nieuports. Two of them (madmoe and cobra78) escaped for no apparent reason while their teammates were still fighting. If they didn't escape the battle would probably have ended differently.
I have seen very poor teamplay, which is the main reason why I have won. Everyone only cared about (1) not risking anything and (2) getting the credit for shooting down the SS. Very seldom I have seen a pilot provide covering fire to his wingman.
On the contrary, I think that if six good pilots (that care about teamplay and not about scoring) are on the Nieuports, the SS will be shot down with very few casualties on the Nieuport side.
And I also think, as I have said quite a few times before, that the current "stats" ENCOURAGE POOR TEAMPLAY.
It is something I have noticed quite a few times in the "outnumbered games", and that is the main reason why I seldom play on the "outnumbering" side.
My own so-called-stats are in fact inflated because I usually fly the better plane. Still, I am not willing to be on the "outnumbering" side unless I trust my wingmen.
