I agree. I tend to take more of a roleplaying view of the game, so survival is a key component to "winning" in my view. Regardless of what the points say, I can't imagine I'd feel like the winner of a game in which I get shot down.
Just curious, are there other(board)games where a player that is eliminated from play can still be considered the winner?
