Well, while I think JP's historical comment is accurate (We probably have more SS D1s in this scenario than ever flew on the Western front) I must say that I have seen a few people starting these scenarios with themselves in SS's in one scenario and super planes in the others, and that's the way it should be.
I've joined a couple as an SS to give it a try (much as I dislike the N-17 and BM's incorrect copy of if for the SS D1) but I don't think I'll start any.
As for the folks who only set themselves into "skeet shooting" (that's cute= I'll steal it.), well, I'm noticing a lot of the Gullivar's scenarios seem slow to fill. When the supply of rookies runs out and smarter players won't join them, those scenarios will just whither on the vine.
I have to agree with JP on one other point-- too many Snipe and SS-D3/4 scenarios. More balance and more interesting situations would be welcomed.
While I'm making big suggestions, what about using the Canvas Eagles charts and giving us a few new airplanes? I don't mean new paint schemes but entirely new planes? Having an Albatros D-II or a Halberstand fighter for some "early war" scenarios would be very nice, as well as having some more 2 seaters for each side. Having an allied 2 seater other than the "flying fort" brisfit could really help balance some existing scenarios. Let Sajami play his "Fatimas" games using an RE8 or Rumpler 4 and see how much fun it is!
