The First Two Rules 1. Don't get shot at. 2. Learn rule #1.

Know! 1. Know thy plane well and that of thy foe better. 2. If you're german, watch your fuel. If you're in a Fokker, watch it twice. Never start a game with a 2 or 3 move, always a 1. (2a. If you're on a Sopwith, watch your tail) 3. There are basically 3 types of planes in BM: a. Dancers (Fokker Dr1, Sopwith Triplane and Camel, etc,) b. Runners (Fokker D.VII, SPADs) c. Nightmares (Sopwith Snipe, Siemens-Schuckert, Bristols). The first two have ALL the moves, the third has more wings, fuselage and fuel than anything else on earth, and a nasty observer pumping lead everywhere)
Stalls 1. Stall (1L1, 1S1 or 1R1) is NOT your friend. If you're shot at, they got a BIG bonus. 2. Learn rule #1 3. Repeat again.
Head-ons 1. Avoid head-ons. More on this here: http://www.youplay.it/play/cp_UserGameType.asp?GameType=BM&redirectUrl=bm_TacticalAdvices.asp
Flying 1. During first moves, don't charge ahead. Look at your teammates. Coordinare with them. Ask friends tailing. 2. When engaging a foe, dont go straight for him. Try to turn around hime and to get on his TAIL. 3. When in a furball, be aware also of what happens elsewhere on the map. 4. When fleeing a threat, turn toward the enemy, not away from him. 5. When pursuing a foe, keep yourself outside his turn if you're faster or same speed, try to cut across his turn if he's faster. In this case beware of not being "spit out". 6. When two aircrafts are on the same hex, pointing in the same direction, the slower one is considered to be behind the other, and can shoot him (a shoot at distance 0, a painful experience, survival not easy). So beware of "spits out" when pursuing. 7. keep pressure, initiative, aggressiveness. 8. Don't be a fool. 9. THINK! |
