| Message text Okay, I'm fairly new here (been playing a few weeks). I'm in about 38 games and 14 of them are waiting for a single player to make a move, and in 2 cases it is the same player blocking 3 games.
What does the site do if "player X" just doesn't show up any more?
I've started to understand the value of "password" games now-- I thought those were just so buddies could play (and I respected that) but now I see it could be a mechanism to restrict games to people who have proven reliability.
But aside from that, what can the site do?
Okay, I'm not a programmer, but I'll ask anyway.
Is there a mechanism by which any player who does not activate their games for some set amount of time can be removed and replaced? (And what that "set time" is can be determined-- 2 days, 3 days...maybe that's a facet of the scenarios...that a scenario designation includes a rule-- not a request, but a programmed rule-- that says, "you must make at least X or you will be replaced.")
It would be nice if, instead of just throwing the games away, that these newly "empty" slots get posted at the regular scenario place--- maybe a new catagory, "replacement players needed," and we could check it out and choose to enter.
Yes, sometimes players probably walk away because their plane is damaged or their situation is unfavorable, but I suspect there are "veteran pilots" that would enjoy putting themselves into that empty cockpit to see what they can make out of the situation. If I thought I were getting into a really "active" game, I would.
Anyway, as I said, I'm new-- maybe there is already some sort of mechanism built in... or are my "missing one guy" games going to be listed forever more?
thanks for any help you can provide. |
