Regarding the different version on the game, we planned the development this way:
1. First of all we are developing a Simplified version of the game with the same rules as the Basic Game but without the Grappling and Melee phases. So in this way you cannot board another ship and melee the crew.
2. After this version in fully debugged, we will implement the Basic version of the rules, as stated in the manual
3. Finally we will develop as many advance rules as we can (some are very special and difficult to realize).
>will this be a 1v1 game, or multiplayer
We can say both. Infact there will be 3 different way of playing a scenario:
1. Captain - 1 ship per player
2. Commander - 1 group of ships per player
3. Admiral - 1 country per player
As a side effect of this way of defining a game, the same scenario could be a 1vs1, 4vs4 or 12vs12 players game. And we can even have deathmatch scenarios: all vs all.
