Message text Yes, they look very nice, but for me, they are still to small to comfortably use in miniature games. I've tried getting into the 6mm bit, but just couldn't get them to work for me. Just to darn small. 15mm is about as small I will go when it comes to figures for Napoleonics, SYW, ACW, etc. For TS&TF games, I'm hooked on 25mm figures. And for Blue Max games, 1:72 scale models work great, but so do 1:144 scale. I prefer 1:72 becasue of availability and price. A Revell 1:72 Fokker VII cost me $3.50, while the same in 1:144 cost on the average $10. Also, the 1:72 just look good from a distance and this is what people see when hosting games at conventions. For our WW2 aircraft games (we modified BM for WW2), the group decided that 1:144 would be the best choice. And I have to agree. I mean, a Me110 is about teh same size as a Fokker Dr1. Area wise that is, not volume. We use the same playing mats and stands for both out 1:72 WW1 planes and our 1:144 WW2 planes. Works out great
Again, just my $0.02 worth. |
