Message text The triplanes are fragile aircraft and they do fine in a few balanced scenarios. Unfortunately, they seem to be in too many scenarios where they are totally out-classed by stronger planes. Some really love the manuverability of the tripes. I have three suggestions:
1) Play the mid-war 2 player scenario Dr1 vs Camel until you really learn the capabilites of the tripe. Since both planes in this scenario are 'c' stability aircraft your survival rate will be greater than when your opponent is flying a snipe.
2) If flying in the Sopwith Tripe v DrI games, look at the firing charts very carefully. Note that the sopwith has "A" stability but only one gun. That gives the Fokker the advantage at range 2 and range 3 shots. The sopwith wants to be at range 1 when exchanging shots.
3) If you really hate the plane, join a different scenaro. I detest the SE5a; not that it is a bad plane, "a" stability and very manuverable. I'm just very unlucky flying the SE5a. I'll pick a Nieuport 28 over the SE5a every time. |
