It's not a general matter of honour, if you think your enemy has fought particularly well and has been just unlucky, you may decide to "grant" him the possibility to glide back home...
However, keep in mind that engine breaking is integral part of the fight, so for example if I always charge head on and get my engine blown, I can't blame anyone who sticks to my tail and fills my plane with lead !!! |
