Possible bug to report... Game 581572 Turn 26, Aces high delivers kill shot to my plane taking all remaining tail, however, my plane is not shot down, and remains in the game with one tail left. (never seen this happen before) Not that I mind having a plane that can't be shot down...

Welcome to the forum, Your idea on newbie training is very well written and do give me some insight. For your question about chit damage.
28. aces_high fired at MaxNemesis, distance 1 with deflection. 0 points. No relevant damages. (Base:7,Stb:+1,Defl:-1,Tail:+2,Long:+1,Jammed).
25. aces_high fired at MaxNemesis, distance 1 with no deflection. 9 points. Damage BR (Base:7,Stb:+1,Long:+1,Dice:+3).
23. aces_high fired at MaxNemesis, distance 2 with no deflection. 5 points. Damage BB (Base:4,Long:+1,Dice:+4)
For tail damage chit you received, if you are facing to your enemy without deflection, it will consider your engine damage and vice versa.
Hope this could answer to your question.
