Message text Well Mr. Zif, it seems that nothing can be concealed to you. As the eye of Sauron, you look far away and discover everything... Yes, that boardgame was made by Gregory Alegi (one of the most famous Italian aviation hiostorians of the last generation) and me. It was a quite more traditional boargame on the path of Air Force, Aces High, Wings and so on. But it had a few original things as you say... First of all, the Austro-Italian front as a setting. French, British and German planes were included, but only if they fought on that front. So it is one of the very few WWI air wargames without the Fokker Dr.I! As in WoW and in the other games quited, you built your move instead than choose it from a certain range: and that's a big difference from Blue Max and Ace of Aces. But it was a quite detailed simulation, quite more complicated than Blue Max and WoW. You can find a few more info at http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/8242 target='_blank'>http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/8242 . And you'll see what is the more evident thing that La Squadriglia degli Assi has in common with WoW: Dario Calì's drawings of the terrain, made after real air photographs taken by recon over tke Italian front in 1916/1918.
And before you ask... Yes, Gregory and me are also the authors of the air combat gamebook "Il Gobbo Maledetto ( http://www.novecentolibri.it/shop/customer/product.php?productid=16160&cat=257 target='_blank'>http://www.novecentolibri.it/shop/customer/product.php?productid=16160&cat=257 ).
Thanks a lot for your attention!
