I making campaign that would be suitable to play on youPlay, and remember the question arises many times:
"Isn't the PK or Plane Explode chits are too often?"
It's affects pilots career hardly, and I quickly do some math... and, here are killing results! =)

At first, Pilot Killed or Plane Exploded will be refered as "Instant Kill", for simplify.
Secondly, assume that you are in attacking plane. If you want to know how many chances you have to survive against Instant Kill, just reverse odds...

Well, look at Combat Value (CV) onto Combat Result Table.
If CV < 4, you can't perform Instant Kill (since Blue Chits on youPlay not include Player Killed, I'm right?)
Maximal CV is 15 on Range 1; and 14 for one-hex combat. On Range 2, maximal CV is 9. On Range 3 it's 7.

This values are slightly rounded. Relation between nearest columns are 1.3 times.

First conclusions:

2-gun gives 1,7 times better chances to Instant Kill enemy than 1-gun.
Stability-A over Stability-C goes the same.
Wrong stalling near your enemy increases his chances to Instant Kill more than twice.
Deflection reduces chances to Instant Kill 1.3 times in nearest hex, 2 - 2.5 farther.
