Header says it all. I created a scenario for 2 Bristols and 3 Albatrii.

Thanks Phil,

Hey one question about Heroism, I would like to know your point of view of scenario such as

2 Bristol vs 7/8 SSI

or 2 Snipe vs 6 SSI

I think it would be quite fun, but many players here said it was unfair to newbie on the weaker side. I have run several games with 1 Snipe vs 3 Albratos DIII and if 3 experienced pilots is against an ACE. The chance is just fair.

P.

Mh. If I can folllow-up on that, how many experienced pilots actually enjoy flying on a pile o' junk against the most powerful plane? My answer is "almost no-one".

So what happens is that if you create 10 of those scenarios, and you take the snipe in every single one of them, you end up raking in those games 30 newbies who will die horribly, and never play again.

So in the end my take would be:
  • you can most surely play unfair scenarios, but you should not do it for the statistics. To be on the safe side, why not playing 2 instaces of the same scenario and take both sides?
  • if the scenario is very unbalanced (the kill / death ratio fromt he statistics can help in determining that), you should arrange it with interested layers, and password it, so that you don't end up killing helpless newbs, which in the end damages the community

    My 2 eurocents.

  • Wasn't this the point behind the pigeon squadron, or whatever we were called? As soon as someone saw one of these scenarios, a Scramble call went out to make sure at least a few half decent pilots, who care less about the statistics, took to the air. Those were great games, and for me warrant the reinstatement of some of those 6v1 scenarios...
