They will be visible only on your plane and on other planes when the games is over or the plane is shot down or retired.

I don't know if it is planned to do so, but it would be very great if every plane display could show to everyone all visible special damages (e.g. not only smoke/fire, but also "Observer killed" and "1 gun destroied"), as these are information available anyway to players, but sometimes difficult to keep track of.. (it could be hard to remember that the Brist you are tailing in one of your dozens of games cannot fire any more, especially if the Observer Killed damage was dealt during an early turn not shown any more...)
