| Message text Well, sort of.
The history of Blue Max is:
2 editions of the game with cardboard pieces,
Then a miniatures version, set up to play the game with 3 d pieces. This version introduced about 16 more "early war" planes and 19 more "late war" planes. It also introduced 2 different kinds of altitude rules.

Then came Canvas Eagles (awfu title!), which refined the charts in a wonderful way, added some more planes and some more rules. http://www.generalissue.com/canvas.html
Canvas eagles fixed some of the errors and misprints which were in the BM miniatures rules (which suffered the "rush to make it to Origins" disease) but still has left some design errors, like the SSD1 being a mirror image of the N 17. (It was sturdier and slower).
Bringing up the N17 takes us full circle on the topic.
