My only concern with this record, and any others my implication, is the propriety of claiming a record after the shooting down of essentially defenseless opposition when they are gliding. I do appreciate the tenacity and the relative merits of the accomplishment, however, and a pilot has to take the opposition as he finds them.
The question is, I guess, is as it appears that both of the opposing DR.I's were gliding for a number of turns before you managed to shoot them down, is the record "tainted?"
