What is the criteria to join this campaign?
If you can think you can login to Youplay.it for about once a day or at least twice to three time a week. That's it.
When will the registration close?
Currently no planning, you can join any time you like. Since we use the ABY (administration by yourself) strategy, the size is currently not a problem, hmmm. may be up to 500 participants and 2500 pilots with 20000 running game, then we will consider to do some other thing... 
Do i need to choose a nationality or even 1 specified class of plane in the campaign?
Short answer, its depends on you. Since the campaign mode is totally new and everything I left to you DIY. You may wish to attend to only one country or even one class of plane, like Halberstadt to Halberstadt CL IIa. But the freedom is yours, if you would like to declare, then stay it clearly in the comment part and stick to your option. But beware if you do such thing, during time of promotion, I will only count completed games that is valid for your description. 
Follow question, then will the same team fight with each other?
The team management is controlled by the team leader, I left the decision to the team leader as well, if he/she plan for a intra group competition, there is chance you will face your teamate, but in case of team battle. You should always follow the decision of your leader. Right?
Follow follow question? In such sense, why I need to join WWI campaign? It makes no sense of joining battle without nationality and planes and blah blah blah...
Short ans, yes if you view things in these case. The original concept of WWI campaign is REAL war, you control your pilots and manage them. Currently in Youplay.it there is no experience and ranking system and my understanding is it will not be out in the close future. (despite the somewhat abusable statistics), also if you want some serious players for youplay, don't want halt games(!!, for me especially) I would say WWI campaign is for Fans of BM and somewhat moderate to seirous players of BM. that you wish to improve your fighting skill, enjoy team fight with the one your want, and meet fans right here!
If those is not your purpose, then forget about WWI, it is not for u
