Yes, I fully agree with this last point, but beginners like myself have some difficulties in guessing the actual balance in a scenario. Only a few of them are explicitely saying: rookie stay away... Therefore, we just join games created by statisticians without knowing we are just here to improve their stats 
Note that most of the aces during WWI did most of their kills on rookies too 
So, if a short indication of balance was added to the scenarii, it would help a lot. For example, what are the chances btw Sopwith Snipe vs SS DIV (late war): same possible manoeuvres, less kerozene for the German...
